Loretta Lux is a photographer/artist whose images centre around unsmiling children. It's not that the subjects seem unhappy... but not bored either... just completely without emotion to the point of being almost inhuman. I'm not sure I like her work... but I don't dislike it either. If nothing else she is the anti-Anne Geddes!

I saw an exhibition of this woman's work a little while ago. I like it a lot. I agree that the kids are a bit... odd looking. I don't know that I'd actually have the images on my wall; maybe just a nice coffee table book would do the trick. They have a similar mood to Mark Ryden's work, I think.
Wouldn't you love to have had a shot like this of yourself at this age?
